Nalanda is entirely run from the donations of members of the public. If you would like to help Nalanda by making a donation, we have listed some current projects that we need help with. You can also make a donation not related to any project.
When donating to a project, please contact the director to let us know which project we should allocate the money to, and then make the actual donation via the links on the right (paypal, or bank transfer).
"When a community in Tibet needed a centre for its spiritual and cultural activities, people came and offered their labor, and constructed the building together, using ancient methods familiar to all involved. Support from the community was offered voluntarily and spontaneously, out of a deep appreciation for the value of the Buddha’s teachings and a firm faith in the principles of cause and effect, which teaches that those who give, also receive."

Current Projects That Need Your Help - updated April 2009
Gompa: Thankhas (whatever thangka one wants to give), Doors gompa/ downstairs (3000 €), Gold leaf last details (400 €)
Rooms: Cupboards including table and altar (cost unknown), 10 Ladders for mezzanine (cost unknown)
Sanitary Equipment: Reed bed (about 15.000 €)
Mediathek / Library: Tables (about 400 €), Glass panel for archive (about 300 €), Library shelves (about 300 €)
Office: Cords electricity/ Computer equipment (4000 €), Glass panels (about 1000 €) Desks x 3 (about 800 €), Cupboards (about 500 €) Fire extinguishers - whole building (2000 €) urgent.
Outside (on the roof): Victory banners x 4 (1.800 € each = 7.200 €), Dharma wheel + 2 Deers (2.800 €), 3 Pinnacles (2.200 €)
Garden: Slate tiles (3.500 €), Fountain (cost unknown), Inner garden (2000 €), Statue or Stupa inside garden (cost unknown), Rainwater tank (5000 €)
Protector gompa: Altar (about 1000 €)
